Our favorite hairdressing dog is back in Animal Crossing: New Horizons after the 2.0 update. Although we haven’t been graced with the presence of her previously owned salon, Shampoodle, she has made a return in Harv’s plaza offering exclusive haircuts.
When will Harriet do your hair in Animal Crossing?
Harriet appears on Harv’s island, which you can get to using a Nook Miles Ticket for 2,000 Nook Miles. With her makeshift hairdressing station in Harv’s plaza, you can start learning exclusive haircuts after you donate to and open the first stall.
From then on, Harriet will be around to offer these special haircuts. Each stall requires a 100,000 bell donation, so you have plenty of time to speak to her and learn all the available haircuts she has to offer!
There’s no tried and tested time frame for when Harriet will or won’t provide haircuts, although some players have reported she won’t do any work before 9am or after 6:30pm.
How many hairstyles does Harriet give you?
In total, you can learn seven haircuts from Harriet’s hairdressing stall. If you don’t like the haircut Harriet has given you, don’t worry! You can select the “Oh no” option when Harriet reveals your new ‘do.
She’ll then offer to change it back which, if selected, means your hair will return to how it was pre-Harriet. Regardless of whether you keep the new ‘do or not, you’ll still learn the hairstyle for future use.
How often will Harriet do your hair ACNH?
If you visit the plaza to get a fresh new ‘do, you can expect to receive one hairstyle per day, so unless you time-travel you’ll have to be patient in your hairdressing endeavors.
Even if you donate bells and open a new stall each day, you won’t receive any more haircuts than the default one.
Once you’ve learned those haircuts, don’t expect to see Harriet open for business again. Her sole purpose is to teach you those seven styles so you can upgrade your ‘do, but once you know them her work is done!
After that point, she’ll shut up shop and wander around the island with a few sayings and not much else. Perhaps one day, the ACNH devs will give us more Harriet interaction – who wouldn’t want to see Shampoodle make a return!?
Why is Harriet not doing hair in my plaza?
Have you found that Harriet hasn’t given you the seven possible haircuts, but when you speak to her you only receive small talk? If yes, then it’s time to open your next stall.
Donate enough bells to open the next kiosk, after which Harriet will offer you a haircut the following day. Be sure to chat with Harriet after each new stall is open, so you don’t miss out on any hairstyles.

Although Harriet isn’t playing a major role in ACNH, it’s nice to see her character return (even if it is for a short amount of gameplay).
You can get your seven haircuts from Harriet at Harv’s plaza, with the option to learn one a day as and when you open up a new stall. Remember Harriet down-tools at 6:30pm, so visit the plaza during the day to increase your learned hairstyles!
