Harv’s plaza is home to many familiar faces, from Kicks and Leif to Tortimer and Redd. Having an array of shops just a plane trip away from your island is brilliant when you’re looking for something specific that a vendor can supply!
But how do you go about unlocking the plaza? It’s easier than you think!
How to unlock Harv’s island plaza
When you first land on Harv’s island, speak to him and follow his photoshoot tutorial in his home.
You can spruce up your photoshoot using props, clothing changes, and characters. But make sure to take pictures to complete the tutorial.
The next day, you should receive a letter from Harv saying he needs to speak with you. If you revisit him, you’ll see a new area of the island you can venture to – the plaza!
How do you get to Harvey’s Plaza in ACNH?
Getting to Harv’s plaza is easy!
Visit your island airport and speak to Orville, telling him “I wanna fly!”.
He’ll then offer you the choice of visiting someone or visiting Harv’s island.
Choose Harv’s island option, sit back, and let Dodo Airlines whisk you away!
How to get shops on Harv’s island?
When you visit the island after receiving Harv’s letter, speak to him to hear his grand dreams for the place.
You’ll spot Lloids (NPC gyroids) dotted around the plaza asking for donations for vendors to open up shop.
The choice is yours of who you unlock first – we went for Redd and Lief straight away – but it’ll cost you 100,000 bells per stall.
You can only unlock one shop per day. It also takes a full ACNH day for the stall to be built and ready for business once you’ve donated 100,000 bells.

Harriet will also be there offering haircuts in her makeshift salon; you’ll need to donate money and open your first stall before she can start giving new ‘dos, though.

Why isn’t Harv sending me a letter?
Many players visited Harv for the wedding season photoshoot, however, this doesn’t count as the first step in unlocking the plaza.
Even if you’ve previously visited his island during seasonal events, you’ll need to visit separately when there’s no event happening and speak to Harv.
This is when he’ll give you the photoshoot tutorial, after which you should receive a letter from him the next day.
Why don’t I have the plaza on Harv’s island?
If you’ve completed Harv’s photoshoot tutorial outside of events but you’re still not unlocking the plaza, you might need further upgrades to your island.
Your island should have a minimum 3-star rating, have K.K. Slider played a concert, and your museum should have all sections open, including art and sea creatures.
Unlocking Harv’s plaza
You’ll need a 3-star island, K.K. Slider’s concert unlocked, and all areas of your museum open with at least one donation in each area. Once you’ve met the criteria, visit Harv’s island from your airport and talk to him.
Once you’ve unlocked all the plaza shops, you can buy real (or fake!) art from Redd, footwear options from Kicks, and crop starts for ingredients that can be used on special days and recipes, like white pumpkins!
